Camp Lemonnier's Officer's visit Djiboutian School

Camp Lemonnier's Officers visited a local Djiboutian School as a Wardroom Community Relations Project.  This was not one of the schools sponsored by the U.S. Embassy as part of their English Discussion Groups.  It was impressive to see the large number of young people that spend their evenings wanting to learn English as a way of improving their lives.  The dreams of success are strong amongst these kids.  My only wish is that they get the opportunity.

Unlike most of the schools I had previously visited as part of the English Discussion Groups, none of these kids had a Facebook account or frequented a Cyber Cafe.  Their English was also not as advanced.  Being able to interact with these amazing young people was a privilege and a place I hope I can return to.
