Cool Blue Water Plant

I went with Justin to conduct an audit on Cool Water Bottling Company.  It was really interesting to see how much goes into making a bottle of water. We inspected their lab, manufacturing, and storage facility as well as records on radiograph, chemical, and microbiology tests of their water.  This was a small, family run business that produces over 2000 5 gallon bottles of water a day as well as over 800 cases of small bottles for distribution. They use commercial water as their source and then use two filtration systems to purify the water. Most companies in the United States only use one filtration system.  During the hot season when demand is high, their water source shuts down for periods which interupts their production. In the picture above, the two ladies are sisters and run the company for their father.  Both of the sisters went to college in the United States and one of the sisters maintains a home in Chicago.  The young man runs the lab for the company. Justin, our veterinarian is on the end in the black shirt. I was amazed at how much he knew about water purification.  In addition to auditing the company to ensure that the U.S. Embassy and American personnel receive a safe water supply, he was very helpful in teaching the employees of the Company which will also help ensure that the people that stay in the hotels as well as the local population also has a safe supply of water.
