A Chinese company has just built a new MRI Diagnostic Center in Djibouti and are continuing to expand their capabilities. They also have a full time radiologist as well as a Urologist on staff. This is the only MRI capability in Djibouti. An MRI cost $300 at the Center here, significantly less here than in the United States. Our Surgeon, Patient Admin Officer, and our Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa Surgeon went with me to visit the center last night and enjoyed dinner afterwards at a Chinese restaurant with their staff. Our dinner was interupted with a medical emergency back at Camp, but we returned afterwards to finish a late night dinner with our Chinese associates and new friends.
